Goodbye Spring, Hello Summer!
As we come to the end of another school term in lockdown, we are really excited to return to our face to face teaching in the Summer Term. Even throughout lockdown this term we have been super busy bringing the fun and enjoyment of music to our students and community. Read on to find out what we've been up to!
Virtual Lessons
Our virtual lessons have continued and we have welcomed lots of new students eager to learn a new instrument. We have limited availability for the new term, please get in touch if you are interested in learning with us.
Not only do we teach classical/electric guitar and ukulele, but a whole range of other instruments too, such as Singing & Musical Theatre, Violin, Piano!
Music & Drama Awards: Finalist!
In February this year we submitted a nomination for the 'Excellence in Primary/Early Years' category in the Music & Drama Education Awards. The nomination was based on our project last year, when we began our Ukulele Grand Tour in schools in and around High Wycombe.
We were thrilled to find out that we had been shortlisted and made the final! Especially given some of the names we were up against in our category. To name a few... DramEd, Lights Camera Action, M:Tech Education for Team Tutti and Sing Up for Sing Up at Home.
Although we didn't win this time, we are feeling a little smug that there's video footage of Alexander Armstrong saying our name! Congratulations to the winner 'RSF for The RSF Primary Schools Rock & Pop Music Workshop Programme'
Virtual Music Workshops in Schools
As we couldn't conduct another Ukulele Tour in the same way we did this time last year, we created a new program for schools to get involved in. We visited 4 schools within Bucks to deliver free virtual music workshops for their Year 3 & 4 classes.
The workshops were based on kitchen percussion and focused on rhythm, beat and combining this with classic rhymes and pop songs! It was really fun to see everyone enjoying the workshops and the feedback was fantastic from all involved.

We also said goodbye to one our music teachers this term, Codrut, who has left to move back to Romania. We wish him the best of luck and we will miss having you as part of the LS Team!
